New Camera

Hey to my lovely readers and followers!! So 2011 is around the corner and I decided to update my camera equipment. No more fuzzy pictures lol. I got a Fuji Fine Pix camera. It's small, but has a good zoom and a nice amount of pixels. I took some test pictures out today when I was out with my mom. I'm really excited to take my camera with me to NYC for New Year's Eve so expect lots and lots of pics. See you after the New Year.

Quote of the Day

"Love . . . Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love Never Fails"
- 1 Cornithians 13: 4-7

I'm not a very spiritual person, but this quote just fits.

Starr Andrews Skates to "Whip My Hair"

Ya'll know I love all things Willow, but this little girl does a wonderful job skating to "Whip My Hair." She's so adorable and I love her hair.

Something Different

2011 is coming in fast and I wanted to do something a little different to my hair. New Year's Eve last year I cut my hair into a short bob which I loved in 2010. But this year I've been wanting to do something a little different. I  went out of my normal comfort zone and decided to get some curly hair. All my family keeps telling me I look just like my mother, which I do. I really like how my hair turned out... I call her KARMEN!! lol

Lately it has been so cold in Baltimore. I can't believe these temperatures. It almost makes me not want to leave out the house. And it's been very windy. I really almost blew down the street today. Okay, maybe not down the street, but the wind pushed me a few steps. Bundle up guys!!

Zodiac Fashion Sense

I stumbled upon this cool website that tells you your zodiac fashion sense. I'm really into astrology if you can't tell. I'm a gemini so here's mine:

Gemini – Anything goes here! Gemini’s dual personality favors all kinds of looks and styles. Gemini’s closets is brimming with outfits for every occasion. They love color and funky styles that are youth oriented. Gemini enjoy wearing a worn pair of sexy blue jeans with a tank top just as much as they love to dress up in a velvet evening gown or black tie tux. The part of the body that Gemini rules are the hands so, bangle bracelets and pretty rings are some of their cherished accessories. Gemini also have a weakness for purses.

It's a Book, It's a Bag

At the premiere for Black Swan, Natalie Portman was photo'd carrying of what appeared to be a copy of  Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita. In reality it was a handbag by French designer Olympia Le-Tan. Olympia Le-Tan has designed handbags out of the first edition covers over her favorite books. They include, “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Moby Dick” and “Satan refuse du monde.”

As a fashionista and an avid reader I have got to snag one of these bags. They are intricately made and the details are vivid.

Pourquoi? Carine, pourqoui?

I can't believe on last Friday Carine Roitfeld announced her resignation from editor-in-chief at French Vogue. She stated she hopes to go on to pursue personal projects.

She stated, "I had so much freedom to do everything I wanted. I think I did a good job." But she added, "When everything is good, maybe I think it's the time to do something else." She expects to complete issues through March. She said she was not sure what she would do after that. "I have no plan at all," she said.

Song of the Week

I am not really a huge Nicki Minaj fan although I do like a few tracks off her new CD. I have been playing this song in particular all week though.

New Year's and All

I suddenly realized at some point throughout my day today that we are half way through December and somehow I can't believe that December got here so quickly. I can remember New Year's 2010 like it was yesterday. Maybe that is one of the downsides of getting older. So I decided to stop and reflect on how my year 2010 went. I can definitely say I am quite proud of the way 2010 went. I made a lot of mistakes I will admit that, but I also had a lot of triumph and success. I am happy for that. I actually was able to physically see my career move forward. I totally ADORED that feeling. I did a lot for myself this year and I have set myself up for a lot of success in the coming year.

A fellow blogger friend of mine asked me what my New Year's Resolutions are for a blog post that she is writing. Honestly, after some careful consideration I realized that I do not have any New Year's Resolutions. Of course they are things personally and professionally that I need to work on, but why wait til January 1, 2011 to start working on them? That seems idiotic. If you want to change or modify something start today. So that is what I am doing. Starting today, I have a list of things I need to accomplish and I intend to see those things through. I am utterly sick of people saying over and over again that "2011 is my year". 2010 should have been your year too. Tragedies happen to everyone. It is just how you deal with those tragedies that determine what kind of outcome you will get.

All that being said, to any of my readers who have a list of "New Year's Resolutions," I dare you to start making those changes a few days early.

Day at the Museum

My best friend Fatimah and I went to the Baltimore Museum of Art a few days ago to see the new Andy Warhol exhibit. The museum feature some of the work from his last decade of life. Warhol is just an amazing artist and even a little eccentric for my taste. We couldn't take any pictures in that particular exhibit, but we did manage to sneak some in in other parts of the museum.
